HCM CITY \u2014 HCM City will speed up COVID-19 vaccination, Nguy\u1ec5n Th\u00e0nh Phong, chairman of its People\u2019s Committee, told an online meeting on Friday.<\/p>\n

A team led by People\u2019s Committee vice chairman D\u01b0\u01a1ng Anh \u0110\u1ee9c and health experts will be set up to carry out procedures related to negotiations for vaccine supplies, consultations and organisation of inoculations, he said.<\/p>\n

The city aims to vaccinate two thirds of its population this year, has a roadmap with a priority list of people because of limited supply yet, but would also ensure a sufficient number of people get vaccinated, he said.<\/p>\n

District 12 authorities sought permission from the People\u2019s Committee to continue district-wide social distancing under the Government\u2019s Directive No. 15 after 15 days of social distancing under the more stringent Directive No. 16 in its Th\u1ea1nh L\u1ed9c Ward.<\/p>\n

L\u00ea Tr\u01b0\u01a1ng H\u1ea3i Hi\u1ebfu, its chairman, said Th\u1ea1nh L\u1ed9c has not recorded more new COVID-19 cases since social distancing began.<\/p>\n

T\u00e2n Th\u1edbi Nh\u1ea5t Ward has the largest number of COVID-19 cases in the district, 51, he said.<\/p>\n

The district has set up a quarantine with 100 beds at the Tr\u1ea7n Ph\u00fa Secondary School.<\/p>\n

Nguy\u1ec5n Tr\u00ed D\u0169ng, chairman of the G\u00f2 V\u1ea5p People\u2019s Committee, said the district has had 106 COVID patients, including five whose status would be announced by the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n

According to the city Department of Health, the city\u2019s largest cluster, which began in G\u00f2 V\u1ea5p on May 26, has seen 441 cases.<\/p>\n

They include one each from four industrial parks. But thanks to early detection, there has been no spread from them to other workers, it said.<\/p>\n

The city has so far controlled G\u00f2 V\u1ea5p cluster well, it said.<\/p>\n

D\u0169ng said 15 days of social distancing is enough for the district.<\/p>\n

He said locals have complied strictly with regulations on social distancing under the Directive No.16. Non-essential services enterprises have closed.<\/p>\n

The district has seven markets, seven supermarkets, and 200 convenience stores open to keep prices steady he said.<\/p>\n

The district also identified facilities for use as quarantine.<\/p>\n

T\u00e2n B\u00ecnh District People\u2019s Committee sought permission from the city for social distancing under the Directive No. 15 for one more week.<\/p>\n

New small COVID-19 clusters<\/b><\/p>\n

Head of the department, Nguy\u1ec5n T\u1ea5n B\u1ec9nh, said many small COVID clusters have been found this week in the city, but due to social distancing, the risk has been low.<\/p>\n

In the clusters found in a warehouse in H\u00f3c M\u00f4n District, Ehome apartment building in B\u00ecnh T\u00e2n District and a family in Th\u1ee7 \u0110\u1ee9c city, only people in the infected people\u2019s family were found infected, he said.<\/p>\n

The city is monitoring the clusters, he said.<\/p>\n

According to a Ministry of Health report, the city has 838 COVID patients, including 270 recovered and two dead ones.<\/p>\n

B\u1ec9nh said the city would continue to tighten preventive measures, especially at industrial parks and export processing zones, to detect, localise and stamping out outbreaks in a timely manner.<\/p>\n

D\u01b0\u01a1ng H\u1ed3ng Th\u1eafng, chairman of the H\u00f3c M\u00f4n People\u2019s Committee, said manual workers and street vendors should be tested since they make up 70 per cent of the district\u2019s patients so far. \u00a0VNS<\/p>\n
